McOpera @ St Cyprians 2017-18 season launch

As the summer fades and the nights draw in, join us this Saturday 16th September for the launch of our new concert series, McOpera at St Cyprians in the beautiful acoustic of St Cyprian’s Church on Beech Road, Lenzie, G66 4HN.

McOpera Brass present the first concert of the series with an entertaining repertoire of music: classical to contemporary, the beautiful to the bold….to the downright different!

October 7th 2017: McOpera Trio with Janet Bloxwich (bassoon), Katie Hull (violin) and Derek Clark (piano)
From the baroque music of Telemann, through to the folk dances of Bartok, this versatile ensemble offers a glimpse into the fabulous sound world of the bassoon, violin and piano – a rare treat not to be missed.

November 18th 2017: Atholl Duo with Lee Holland (flute) and Glynn Forrest (percussion)
Join the Atholl Duo as they perform a diverse selection of works for flute and percussion.
Performing music by Jolivet, Colquhoun, and Farr, plus arrangements of classics by Bach and Piazolla, their unique sound will both fascinate and delight.

February 10th 2018: McOpera Piano Trio with baritone Andrew McTaggart and Frances Pryce (violin), Marie Connell (cello) and Laura Baxter (piano)
In a programme of music both with and without words, renowned baritone Andrew McTaggart and the McOpera Piano Trio bring you a fabulous selection of music celebrating the reign of Queen Victoria, her love of Scotland and its culture, and the burgeoning of a unique British love affair with compositions for voice and chamber ensemble.

The final concert in the series will be on 17th March 2018.
