Orchestra for Hire

harmoniemusik,%2018th%20C%20image%20crop2.jpeg

An integral part of our business is providing an orchestra of fully professional musicians for accompanying choral concerts.

One of our recent concert was with the Bearsden Choir, in the City Halls Glasgow on May 19th 2024. McOpera provided a small chamber orchestra to accompany the choir in music from Arvo Part, George Swann, and Giacomo Puccini. Music Director and conductor Andrew Nunn said after the Virtual Vivaldi recording:
“I wanted to write to say a huge thank you for yesterday. It was such a joy to be able to make real life, live music with you and I feel so lucky that it was with such an amazing group of musicians. Thank you for your wonderful playing and musicality, which I know will lead to a fantastic final result. Thanks also for your good humour and positivity, which made the day such a lovely experience. I know I said this at the end yesterday, but our session will be something that stays with me for a long time and I am so grateful that we shared that experience together. Thank you again and looking forward to working with you all again in the future.”

Another recent concert was for the Helensburgh Oratorio Choir, in Helensburgh Parish Church. McOpera professionals led the string and wind sections of the orchestra, mentoring student musicians supplied by the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The concert was conducted by their Music Director Susannah Wapshott. She said:
“Thank you all so much again for last night. It was an absolute joy having such a lovely and fantastic bunch of musicians! Thanks again, also for all the work behind the scenes fixing the players, handing out parts etc. Really makes my job a lot easier!”

McOpera is happy to supply a quotation for a professional orchestra of any size and to assist with any arrangements.
